As it hammers out the details of a proposal to buy the former Redding Police Station building, the McConnell Foundation is also vying for another corner of California and Shasta streets downtown.

The foundation submitted an offer to buy the Bell Rooms — a boarded-up building that in the 1940s operated as a brothel — and turn it into a bicycle-themed destination. The Redding Area Bus Authority, which owns the building, will consider that offer Monday.
