Curletta leads Modesto to 4-3 win over San Jose |

MODESTO, Calif. (AP) — Joey Curletta doubled and singled as the Modesto Nuts topped the San Jose Giants 4-3 on Saturday.

Matthew Festa allowed a run, but struck Steven Duggar out with runners on first and second to end the game for his fourth save of the season.

Modesto went up 4-0 in the fourth after Donnie Walton hit a two-run triple and then scored on a single by Luis Liberato.

After San Jose scored two runs, the Giants cut into the deficit in the ninth inning when Jalen Miller hit an RBI single, bringing home Dillon Dobson.

Marvin Gorgas (4-1) got the win in relief while San Jose starter Conner Menez (6-6) took the loss in the California League game.
